A lovely friend has forwarded me to a link for an online card company who are calling for illustrators to submit work. Deadline is the 20th, a little
while but enough time to send me into a state of panic. I do have a small collection of old designs but they have been rejected by card companies before. Do I need rejection now? Is that being a little negative?
Maybe I should do some more designs? Oh I don't know!
Mr Stag is coming along just fine, so close to being finished now. You will see him in the next blog X
Well Mr Stag is coming on just fine but taking much longer than expected which is kinda a good test for me. I need to overcome my terrible habit of getting bored with anything that takes longer than a couple of days. I want to try and stick to something and finish it, instead of having a load of unfinished things on the go.
I have had some other projects going on, Ava's birthday party invite that had to be done as only two weeks to go until the party day. It went rather well, all finished in an afternoon. I'm really happy with the design.
Next job to be done is a curtain for Izi's bedroom door which has a small window in it. I picked up some beautiful fabric in the sale at John Lewis, isn't it gorgeous. The colour, the bird, the tree all lovely. It would make a rather cool skirt but no, curtain it must be!
Welcome to Mr Stag! I completed the black embroidery last night but it looked a bit lonely on the fabric. I've started on some purple foliage which still needs a few more hours work, you can just about see the faint lines on the fabric where I intend to embroider. May add a little colour to Mr Stag too, maybe lilac or pink, I will see as I don't want to overwork it.
Wow I am enjoying creating something again, it's been too long. This is what makes me happy.
Well the beginning of a new year and my blog, I'm excited. I plan to create lots of stuff this year. Hopefully I will document the progress through this blog. But before any of that the Xmas decorations had to come down. It seems wrong to have them up at the beginning of a year.
